About Andrew:

Andrew.jpg

Andrew Green is a composer, conductor, performer, and music instructor who has been teaching since 2004. He received his bachelor’s degree in music from Bemidji State University and attended further graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. As a composer he has composed over 145 pieces of music for a wide variety of instruments, including solo instruments, chamber groups, vocal and choral music, electronic music, and large orchestra. As a conductor he has worked as a youth orchestra conductor in addition to leading other concerts. Andrew has performed with the Bemidji Symphony Orchestra, Greater Grand Forks Symphony, opera orchestras, string quartets, jazz bands, solo piano performances, and has been a director and instructor of summer fiddle camps.

Andrew creates individualized lesson plans for each student, and helps each student achieve their own musical goals. He balances each lesson with proper playing techniques, learning repertoire, music theory, effective practice and learning methods, and having fun with music. His students have played in their school orchestras, bands, choirs, musicals, and college orchestras and bands, have performed in church, in community concerts, and in the Bemidji Symphony, have taken part in various music camps, and have created their own music. Several of his students have been music scholarship recipients, and some have gone on to study music in college.
